Read Talk Understand

I feel like I read and discuss differently when the authors in the room because often when I read I have to be able to understand the text by imagining things and that doesn't always go as plan. So yes I do think an author reading or describing the text is better because it develops my understanding about the text. At times I rather discuss about the text because it helps me see other peoples point of view and I gives me a better understanding but when I read the story alone or may be even when someone is reading it I tend to forget the text or I cant really see the image in order for me to get the text.
